He has been on the owner’s side of the table.

Fred Morgenstern built Captiva Containers from a startup into a leading U.S. packaging manufacturer, expanded its reach internationally, and ultimately navigated a partnership with institutional capital.

Fredline is built on that experience—not on theory.

Fred Morgenstern at a Captiva Containers production facility

From startup to scaled manufacturer.

Fred founded Captiva Containers with the perspective of an entrepreneur and the discipline of an operator. What began as a startup grew into a major U.S. packaging manufacturer with more than 100 employees and over 200,000 square feet of production.

Building the company required more than sales and capital. It required earning customer trust, developing people, navigating supply chains, investing in equipment, solving operational problems, and making decisions when the answer was not obvious.

As Captiva grew, Fred also developed extensive international relationships and experience across multiple markets and business cultures.

When the time came to consider an institutional partnership, Fred faced the same questions many owners eventually face: What is the business worth? What kind of partner is right? What should my role become? And what comes next?

Each stage changed the way Fred understands owners.

Fredline reflects lessons learned across the full lifecycle of building, scaling, partnering, and thinking beyond one company.

01 / Start

Build from nothing.

Turn an idea into customers, operations, people, and a business capable of surviving its early years.

02 / Scale

Create an organization.

Grow beyond the founder through infrastructure, leadership, equipment, systems, and disciplined execution.

03 / Expand

Think internationally.

Build relationships across markets, understand different business cultures, and recognize opportunities beyond one geography.

04 / Partner

Choose the next chapter.

Evaluate institutional capital, strategic alignment, personal liquidity, continued leadership, and long-term fit.

05 / Fredline

Help other owners choose.

Bring lived experience, practical judgment, and trusted relationships to business owners facing their own next decision.

A business is more than a financial asset.

Owners do not experience a company as a spreadsheet. They experience it as years of risk, responsibility, relationships, and decisions.

01 / PEOPLE

Every decision affects more than the owner.

Employees, customers, suppliers, families, and communities often depend on the company. A thoughtful transition must account for the people behind the numbers.

02 / OPERATIONS

Growth is earned on the floor.

Real value is created through execution: capacity, quality, service, systems, leadership, and the ability to solve difficult problems consistently.

03 / CAPITAL

Money is useful only when it serves the right plan.

Capital can accelerate growth, reduce personal risk, or open new opportunities—but the structure and the partner behind it matter.

04 / ALIGNMENT

The right relationship matters after the closing.

A transaction may happen once. The working relationship, expectations, and decisions that follow can shape the company for years.

Business looks different across borders.

Fred’s experience extends beyond the U.S. market. Years of working internationally have shaped how he evaluates relationships, communicates across cultures, and recognizes opportunities that may not fit a conventional domestic lens.

Fredline draws on relationships and business exposure across North America, Latin America, Israel, Japan, and other international markets.

To give owners a better place to begin.

Many owners first encounter their options through someone already trying to sell them a process, a transaction, or a predetermined outcome.

Fredline begins earlier—with a private conversation about the owner, the business, and what a good next chapter would actually look like.

The goal is not to tell every owner to sell. It is to help owners understand what is possible, choose with greater confidence, and meet the right people when the time is right.

Fredline is the kind of conversation Fred would have wanted when he was deciding what came next.

Experienced enough to understand the decision. Connected enough to help move it forward. Personal enough to begin without a pitch.

Owner to owner. Start with a conversation.

No formal process is required. Tell Fred what you have built, what you are considering, and what matters most to you.
